FSC Weston returns this May.
Once again, the Flight Simulator Convention Weston returns this year to Weston-super-Mare's helicopter museum after last year’s successful show. Taking place on the weekend of 19th and 20th of May, the show will bring together enthusiasts from all over the UK and the world to showcase the world of Flight Simulation, brought to you in association with PC Pilot magazine, the UK's most popular flight sim magazine.
Fun for young and old
This year there's fun for all the family. With over 40 different simulators on show, you can try your hand at captaining an airliner or flying a few circuits at Filton in a Cessna right through to fast jet training and of course helicopter combat missions. Whether young or old, there'll be something to interest you. On the Sunday we even have helicopter flights available that's sure to make for an unforgettable memory.
Showcasing the industry.
It's not just home simulators on show. If you’re looking for hardware or software for your own sim, you'll find it here. Local companies like Saitek and R.C. Simulations will be on hand to help you take your simming to the next level whilst the UK's largest stockist of flight sim software and hardware, Flightstore, will tempt you with everything from scenery to flight yokes. PC Pilot will also be offering show busting deals on subscriptions as well as a chance to talk to the experts.
Remembering the fallen.
This year brings us the 30th anniversary of the Falklands conflict. As a tribute to those who fell on the battlefield, the FSC Weston is themed around the conflict. Throughout the museum there'll be items found in that conflict, from the helicopters that served in both the Navy and RAF at the time as well as various vehicles. To help the younger generation understand the conditions of battle, there'll be a re-enactment society to show the horror of war.
The best way to never forget is to talk to those who were involved with the Falklands conflict themselves, and in our veterans lounge you have the opportunity to meet some of the surviving veterans. They'll be on hand to sign books and just to chat to, helping keep history alive. There'll also be an art exhibition by West Country Artist Rachael Lomas, who has created works to capture the experiences of the veterans of the Falklands conflict on canvas.
